Silver seeps between cypress fingers,

spills through bedroom window,

voyeuristic light barely dimmed

by remnants of fog.

Full moon makes the sheets itch.

I toss, fidget upon my bed of nails,

a victim of astral lunacy.

Far surf wallops crumbling coastline.

King tides flood

sweet water pond with salty brine,

turn wetland lagoon

into brown, brackish stew.

Shimmering planetoid

hanging above pallid dunes

disorients gravity, dismantles sleep,

arouses a marauding gang

of noisy raccoons.
